Counselor, Owner

I attended the University of Georgia and earned a Bachelor of Arts in both Spanish and Sociology. After graduation I spent a year interning with a college campus ministry in Spain and my desire to work with people on a deeper level began to form. I left Spain with a curiosity for teaching, so spent a year working with Elementary School Kids with Emotional and Behavioral Disorders (EBD). I quickly learned that these kids’ struggles were not only academic, but also emotional in nature. Difficulties at home, emotional struggles and learning disabilities affected their wellbeing to the point that they could no longer learn in school. It was there in a small Special Education classroom that I decided to pursue counseling.

I attended Richmond Graduate University where I earned a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy with a specialization in Child and Adolescent Counseling. After working inpatient with teenage girls, I recognized the need to not only to help these girls overcome their own struggles, but to also help their families implement change. No journey is meant to be walked alone and the more support we are able to give one another, the more easily we can heal.

Everyone is faced with their own challenges, but I believe every family and individual, no matter how broken, also embodies their own unique strength to overcome these challenges. My role is to walk alongside those with whom I work to help identify these strengths and restore relationships that will help create lasting change.
